Creation is a defunkt metaphor in my mind. it’s 1.0 thinking. Curation is about story and experience. Look at a museum of an art gallery if you need proof. Stop trying to be creative, be curative….
Therese’s comment: I love that title! Beyond that, and even if it preaches for his chapel, it’s an important thought provoking view on curation from Lyst.ly co-founder
***** Good suggestion from Theresa Torris. Creation does seem very THEN with curation more NOW. I love contemporary art. Contemporary artists can’t help but mix curation into their creative process. When everything is available in seconds creation is a different process, it is a collaborative process finding combinations, synergy and threads to juxtapose ideas and objects. Look at Pinterest. Pinterest shows, in one day, more art than could be seen in a lifetime prior to the web’s interconnectedness.
Once we are so real time interconnected creation is very “1.0”. We’ve entered the state of hyper nowness and a new art is forming. The art of curation.
